“Eureka!” Map Your Future Career Exploration Workshops

Mandatory Prerequisite for 9th Grade 1:1 appointments for 2019 

Eureka Career Counseling Workshops are a NEW feature to support 9th and 10th grade students as they begin exploring their interests and planning related to college & career. Registration REQUIRED.

Every other Tues at the Cal Prep Academy Campus (32972 Calle Perfecto, SJC)

Designed for students to build a better working knowledge of how to make choices in regards to their career/major. Important information regarding how high school    courses connect to student interests & skills.

Attendance REQUIRED prior to scheduling a 1:1 appointment for 9th grade students ONLY. Students enrolled in CCP or AVID are exempt from attending and can schedule a 1:1 as needed. If a 9th grade 1:1 appointment is scheduled without attending a Eureka Career Counseling Workshop, it will be cancelled.

Eureka Career Counseling Workshops (Third Thursday of each month) on CUSD High School Campuses are a new feature of our program to support 11th grade students as they begin planning their interests and major options for college application season.

Designed to help students narrow down their major options, explore alternative majors, and connect all elements of career exploration to their potential post-secondary choices. 

Registration REQUIRED. All on-campus options open to ALL CUSD 11th graders.

RECOMMENDED prior to attending a College List Jumpstart (for major options).

Students ONLY. Parent education available via other events/webinars.


College List Jumpstart – Juniors Only

College List Jumpstarts (Last Thursday of each month) on CUSD High School Campuses are a new feature to support 11th grade students as they begin planning exploring colleges and building their college list.

Designed to help students learn about college search tools, define what colleges will be the best fit for you, build a preliminary college list, and refine a college list that fits your academic, social and financial needs.

Registration REQUIRED. All on-campus options open to ALL CUSD 11th graders.  

Students ONLY. Parent education available via other events/webinars.                             

One-on-One Counseling Appointments
Available for Grades 9 - 12 Only 
►Sept. - Dec. grades 11-12 have priority
►Jan. - May is open to all grades 9-12
  • Designed for more comprehensive discussions about college and career planning including (45 min sessions) - sample topics include:
    • Best Fit College Search & Strategies
    • Planning Your College Visits
    • Test Prep Planning (SAT/ACT/Subject Exams)
    • General Guidance for Student-Athletes
    • Career or Major Exploration
    • Discovering non-college post-secondary options
  • Please Carefully Review our Frequently Asked Questions before scheduling an appointment in order to maximize your time with your Counselor. 
  • Are you ready for an appointment? We highly recommended having a framework through some basic education for your appointment so it can be more effective. Sometimes attending an event (on right side of this page) or just watching a Webinar may give you a good starting point. 
PLEASE READ:
  1. You must click "Schedule Appointment" below and register for an available time through our online appointment system "Calendly." We DO NOT have an office phone number, so we are unable to take phone calls. 
  2. Registration opens on a 30 day rolling basis so check back for future availability.
  3. You MUST fill out the Pre-Meeting Questionnaire  prior to attending your appointment (makes the counseling more effective). *Note: Completing your Pre-Meeting Questionnaire does NOT schedule your appointment.
  4. When completing the appointment registration, use the student's name and a preferred email address to receive the email confirmation.
  5. You can only hold one appointment slot on our calendar at at time. Multiple appointments will be cancelled by our staff.
  6. Student MUST be present for the appointment. Parents can attend too.
  7. Read the FAQs for expectations and more details about our services.
  8. You will receive a confirmation email and reminder letting you know who your appointment is with, when, and where to go. If you do not, then you either did not register through "Calendly" or entered the wrong email.
  9. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so 48 hours in advance by using Calendly, our online appointments system. If you need to contact us for another reason, email cusd-futureology@capousd.org.
  10. Location is at 555 The Shops At Mission Viejo, 2nd Floor Food Court between Charley's & Rubios, through double doors in the hallway.
