Counseling Appointments
Following the lead of our District Officials and in compliance with recommendations from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) we will be temporarily suspending in person 1:1 counseling appointments at The Shops At Mission Viejo.

Instead, we plan to extend support ONLINE through VIRTUAL COUNSELING options as we know college and career planning is an ongoing process for all families. We are confident that these options will keep you on track. We understand this is a complex situation to navigate with your families and your health and wellness is our top priority.

►ALL HS Grade Levels (SR, JR, SO, FR) have openings Jan - May
►Attending a Eureka! Map Your Future Workshop is a MANDATORY prerequisite for all 9th grade students wanting to schedule a 1:1 appointment (exception is if your student is currently enrolled or completed CCP or AVID)
►Registration for appointments open on a 30 day rolling basis so check back regularly for future availability. It may look like there is no availability throughout the year because appointments don't open months in advance.

1:1 Appointment Notes
Designed for more comprehensive discussions about college and career planning. Sample topics include:
  • Best Fit College Search & Strategies
  • Planning Your College Visits
  • Test Prep Planning (SAT/ACT/Subject Exams)
  • General Guidance for Student-Athletes
  • Career or Major Exploration
  • Discovering non-college post-secondary options
Please Carefully Review our FAQs before scheduling an appointment in order to maximize your time with your Counselor.
Are you ready for an appointment? We highly recommended having a framework through some basic education for your appointment so it can be more effective. Sometimes attending an event (see left side of this page) or just watching a Webinar may give you a good starting point.
MANDATORY Prerequisite for 9th Grade appointments: Attend a Career Exploration Workshop (held between Jan - Apr).
These workshops are a NEW feature to support 9th and 10th grade students as they begin exploring their interests and planning related to college & career. Students enrolled in CCP or AVID are exempt from this requirement and can schedule as needed.

  1. You must click "Schedule Appointment" below and register for an available time through our online appointment system "Calendly." We DO NOT have an office phone number, so we are unable to take phone calls.
  2. Registration opens on a 30 day rolling basis so check back for future availability.
  3. You MUST fill out the Pre-Meeting Questionnaire 9th/10th grade OR Pre-Meeting Questionnaire 11th/12th grade prior to attending your appointment (makes the counseling more effective). *Note: Completing your Pre-Meeting Questionnaire does NOT schedule your appointment.
  4. When completing the appointment registration, use the student's name and a preferred email address to receive the email confirmation
  5. You can only hold one appointment slot on our calendar at at time. Multiple appointments will be cancelled by our staff.
  6. Student MUST be present for the appointment. Parents can attend too. Feel free to view Acknowledgement Form prior to the appointment.
  7. Read the FAQs for expectations and more details about our services.
  8. You will receive a confirmation email and reminder letting you know who your appointment is with, when, and where to go. If you do not, then you either did not register through "Calendly" or entered the wrong email.
  9. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so 48 hours in advance by using Calendly, our online appointments system. If you need to contact us for another reason, email cusd-futureology@capousd.org.
